 Pumpkin Décor- 3 Ways

October is here and it’s time to start sprucing up those dorm rooms and apartments with Halloween décor. Pumpkins are on every street corner whether you’re in Manhattan or the Bronx, and prove to be an affordable way to celebrate fall. Try a chic approach with a cluster of mini white pumpkins, or get crafty by painting a pumpkin ombre and decking one out in glitter.

CMJ Music Festival

The CMJ Music Festival is a concert extravaganza held this Saturday, October 19 at various venues around the city. The vibrant festival has been known to “cut out the middle man” and bring the music industry (and film industry!) directly to its fans. This multi-media approach proves to be nothing short of sensational and provides an inside glimpse at up and coming bands and films.

Fall Brunch

If it’s a Saturday or Sunday between 12 and 4 pm, you’re most likely brunching. So why not take that brunch to the next level by adding some easy fall ingredients?  Apple cider mimosas and pumpkin donut holes are sure to be a hit and make your inner foodie feel festive.

Running until the end of October, “Archtober” celebrates Design and Architecture Month by offering design tours, lectures, films, and a behind-the-scenes look at the buildings that endow NYC with its unique character. Over 50 organizations participate (Museum of Arts and Design and MOMA just to name a few) and the events are held all over New York City. Visit for more info and get your design guru on.

Grubb Street Food Festival

While the weather’s still crisp, head down to the Lower East Side for an array of different food trucks that won’t fail to disappoint. Test your taste on everything from dark chocolate tartlets to asian-inspired dumplings, and familiarize yourself with local food joints that exist around the city.
