Fordham softball pitcher Rachel Gillen has faced her fair share of trials and tribulations. The 3x high school All-American struck out over 1000 batters at Archmere Academy in Delaware and won almost 70 games. But, Gillen hasn’t been on the field in over a year since undergoing Tommy John surgery and transferring from the University of Virginia. Gillen’s journey hasn’t been easy, but she is finally healthy and ready to play in the Bronx in 2014. The redshirt sophomore cannot wait to return to her favorite place on the earth: the pitcher’s mound.
